How Legion’s pricing actually works

Legion sells at list price and discounts through three layers, all published on its own site. The list prices on 09/28/2026: Whey+ protein isolate at $39.99 for 15 servings, $69.99 for 30 and $119.99 for 60 (product page); micronized creatine monohydrate at $29.99 for 60 unflavored servings, $34.99 flavored and $39.99 for 100 servings (product page).

1. First-order codes. Legion runs “coupon code” landing pages that reveal the code once you enter an email address: FIRSTTIME for 20% off on /save-20/ and BOGO50 for buy one, get one 50% off on /save-50/. Both are first-order codes.
2. Subscribe & Save. 30% off the first shipment, then 15% off every one after, delivered every 30, 60 or 90 days, with skip, pause and cancel from the account page (terms).
3. Rewards points. 3% back as points (one point per dollar at the entry tier, three cents per point), 20 points for opening an account, 100 on your birthday, and 700 points when a referred friend buys. Points expire six months after they are earned (rewards page).

Subscription wins on a single bag, and because Legion lets you cancel after the first shipment, the 30% first-shipment price is effectively the best one-time price too. Whether FIRSTTIME stacks on top of subscription pricing is not stated anywhere on the site; test it at checkout.

The cheapest honest path

1. Open a rewards account before you order. It is free, it earns 20 points immediately and the 3% back applies to subscription shipments as well as one-off orders.
2. Subscribe for the first shipment. 30% beats either first-order code on a single item. Use a 60 or 90 day cadence if you are not sure you will keep it.
3. Keep repeat orders over $80. Pair a $59.49 whey shipment with creatine ($20.99 at the 30% subscription price, $25.49 at 15%) and the order ships free.
4. Use the guarantee instead of guessing flavors. A first purchase of any product is refundable for 365 days without a return. Buy one bag, not three.
5. Skip or cancel from My Subscriptions if the cadence does not match how fast you use it. Legion’s page says this can be done at any time.

Exclusions, fees and fine print

• The guarantee covers the first-time purchase of a product. A second bag of the same product is not covered, and Legion may ask for multi-product orders to be returned (return shipping is on them) (return policy).
• Rewards points expire six months after they are earned, and you must redeem them with the point slider at checkout while logged in.
• Free shipping is described as “anywhere in the U.S.” over $80, and Legion’s site treats Puerto Rico as international. A visitor located in Puerto Rico does not see the free-first-order banner, and the Subscribe & Save page says “International shipping rates are calculated at checkout” (checked 09/29/2026). The support page groups Puerto Rico and Guam with Canada and the UK at 10 to 14 days for delivery (support page). If you ship to Puerto Rico, where Joe lives, read the shipping line in the cart before paying; the free-shipping math on this page applies to U.S. addresses only.
• The site offers Sezzle pay-in-four at checkout (four interest-free payments over six weeks). That spreads the cost; it does not lower it.
• The BOGO code discounts the second item, not the order, so it only helps when you want two of something.

What changed since the 2012 era

This site’s 2012 supplement pages were built around third-party coupon codes pushed through affiliate networks. Legion, founded by author Mike Matthews to sell what he calls science-based supplements without proprietary blends (the story), was not on the site then, and its model makes code hunting mostly pointless: the brand publishes its own first-order codes and puts the real discount in the subscription. The useful work today is the arithmetic above, not finding a secret code.

Affiliate program status

Legion’s footer “Affiliates” link goes to a BrandChamp application at legionathletics.brandchamp.io/apply, a program the brand runs directly. FlexOffers also lists it at 8% on new-customer sales, 1.6% on existing customers, with a 3-day cookie (FlexOffers listing, last updated 08/31/2026 per that page).
